Hatching Chicks

This was my first time hatching chicks in an incubator. I set the temp, added water, and placed 4 eggs inside. They should hatch in 21 days. We "candled" then with a flashlight 3 times within the 21 day period. We could see veins and sometimes movement. I was still convinced at least one wouldn't hatch. On day 20 all four had cracks in the shell! Before bed 3 out of 4 hatched. Pretty good for our first time! What a surprise it was the next morning to see the last one had hatched during the night! 4 out of 4!! 3 Australorps and 1 Australorp/egger mix. Can't wait to help these babies grow and join our flock.
